LET’S
GET
IT
RIGHT

First opportunity in 8 years to elect representatives to Council.

LET’S GET IT RIGHT - IT'S TOO IMPORTANT NOT TO.

Like you, we cherish the Southern Highlands as a beautiful place to live, work, raise a family, relocate to, and retire to. It is also a destination that attracts visitors. We are blessed with a great climate, good soils for farming, an abundance of natural attractions, a stunning landscape ideal for parks, reserves, and outdoor sport and recreation activities. We are conveniently located between Sydney and Canberra with easy access to Wollongong and the South Coast.

We recognise that it is the people, the residents of the villages, townships, and farms across the Shire, that create the wonderful sense of community that we all belong to. However, we cannot be complacent. Action must be taken to preserve the character of the Shire, the green between townships and villages. We must be the Smart Shire to be economically viable into the future by proactively encouraging innovation, sustainability, and resilience.

The office of Councillor comes with great responsibility and an opportunity to influence the future strategic direction of the Shire. I am proud to be running and leading an independent ticket of competent and suitably experienced candidates for the upcoming Wingecarribee Shire Council election. Each candidate on the LET’S GET IT RIGHT ticket is passionate about serving the community and maintaining a positive reputation of the Southern Highlands. We believe that representatives on Council should conduct themselves with respect and dignity and act in the best interests of the community. We promise to never lose sight of the fact that elected Councillors represent the people and should remain trusted custodians of that sense of community.

This election is the first opportunity in 8 years for residents to democratically vote for Councillors. It is important that competent and suitably experienced individuals are elected, people that are by nature active listeners, possess common sense, gather facts and refer to evidence, and seek expert advice prior to making informed decisions.

Together, LET’S GET IT RIGHT at this election – it’s too important not to.

Ready to serve,

Nicole Smith
