Bronwyn is a long time resident of the Southern Highlands and for more than 20 years has been a champion for residents advocating to council for practical outcomes in relation to Renwick and the Development Control Plan.
Bronwyn has two adult children and lives with her husband in Mittagong. She is currently a lecturer in Digital Technologies and STEM in the School of Education at Macquarie University. With formal qualifications in Bachelor or Arts with Diploma in Education and a Master of Education she is now completing a PhD. Bronwyn has taught at Oxley and Frensham and is also an Accredited Provider of Professional Development for Teachers in NSW. Career highlights for Bronwyn include being a writer of the 2024 NSW Science and Technology K-6 syllabus and support materials, developing a Civics and Citizenship program for NSW Independent Schools, developing a student profiling system that has been used for 15 years to track and respond to students’ learning needs, and creating the Rites of Passage program at Oxley College and running it for 5 years.
Bronwyn has served on the Academic Senate for Macquarie University and is an active supporter of the Women In Engineering and IT program at the University of Technology Sydney. She has exceptional skills in undertaking research, analysing data, stakeholder engagement, preparing reports and presenting findings to public audiences. Bronwyn has recently presented to an international audience in Chennai on the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and has upcoming publications on the history of creativity, systems thinking and design. She has been an active member of St Jude’s Church and invests time as a volunteer to local charities.
Having taught at three local schools and being involved in community advocacy Bronwyn has developed an intimate knowledge of what matters to different groups.
Bronwyn has nominated for council and is ready to serve hoping to champion infrastructure and traffic management to relieve congestion, drive better outcomes by proactively incentivising development that fits with the rural and heritage character of the Shire and ensuring that recreational facilities are generous in dimension and sufficiently appealing to stimulate building social capital.
